March Favorites

Almay Intense i-Color

022 Blue Topaz
I'm not a huge fan of liquid liners, as I don't care much for the perfect line, but this one is really nice. It has a rubber tip instead of a felt or brush. One dip of the wand covers my entire eye.

MAC MSF

I bought this Mineralized Skinfinish at a CCO. Sometimes I use this as a blush and sometimes as a highlight.
Since I have fair skin this can be used as either one, but during the summer I'm sure it will be strickly used as a highlight. I dont like bright cheeks, so this color is perfect for me during the winter.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Love, love, love this product. I saw this in a magazine and had to have it! The price is $10, I believe and is supposed to last for 3 months. It comes in black and brown. This is not only useful for the bottom lashes, but also for reaching the small lashes on the inner and out coner of the eye.

Tarte Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder with PM 20
Whew! Long name, but excellent product. I got this in a Tarte value set from Ulta. This weightless powder is great for setting my foundation and concealer and keeps my makeup from slipping off my oily skin. Once this is gone I will definitally be repurchasing the full sized product.

Hard Candy Painted Lady Lipstick
After searching for the perfect nude I have finally found it. Fire Alarm lipstick feels more like a gloss than a lipstick, so it doesn't have much staying power, but for five dollars I have no problem slathering it on my lips every so often.

Lush Haul

This past Wednesday I came home a day early from college due to a lack of classes. This trip was originally planned for the summer, but I thought why waste a Thursday at home when you can drive two hours to go shopping. One of my best friends Julie accompanied me on this trip as she wanted to go to H&M. We woke up bright and early and headed out for our mini road trip.
This was our first trip to Lush. I've known about Lush for around ten years. I came accross the company while watching The Style Network's show Stripped which gave viewers an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes of their favorite beauty brands. The only one in my state is six hours away and no way were we going to drive that far with gas prices almost four dollars a gallon.
Anyway, I didn't really know what to expect when we arrived. The store was tucked into a little corner of the mall, but we had no problem finding it. The smell of the store was so overwhelming I couldn't smell anything. I had to keep smelling my jacket everytime I wanted to smell something new. The girls who worked there were so nice. I felt like I could ask them any question about Lush and they wouldn't think anything about answering it.
This haul is over the course of two trips to Lush and I'm sure you're thinking, "what the heck Jessica?! Driving another two hours to go to Lush again? Not to mention the other two hours back home." Yeah I had to. But it wasn't about Lush. I had bought some articals of clothing at H&M and  I am not the one to try on clothes before purchasing them and I ended up getting the wrong sizes. Lesson learned. And while I was checking out this old woman started yelling at the man who was scanning my clothes and he forgot to take the security tag off one of my shirts. If I attemped to take it off myself blue ink would have stained it . BOO!
Now to the purpose of this post...

Happy Blooming Bath Melt

This is a cherry scented bath melt with coco butter, ylang, and calamine to soften your skin. My friend described this as smelling like cherry lipgloss and I think she is right with a bit of a creamy smell as well. This can be cut or broken off to get three baths out of this one bar.

Mrs. Whippy Bath Bomb
Lush describes this as a slow melting strawberry ice cream. I personally think it smells like Slatkin & Co. Fireside candle, but still has a sweet smell to it.

Vanilla Fountain Bath Bomb
I smelt this during my first trip to Lush, but I didn't purchase it then. I got this during my second trip. This has a creamy vanilla scent to me. And I feel like I can smell some coconut in there too. Lush says this has a burnt caramel scent. I don't know if I like it as much as I did in the store, but none-the-less it will be used and enjoyed.

Blackberry Bath Bomb
This bath bomb has berries, blackcurrant, burgamont and frankencense. It smells nicely sweet and I believe this has a piece of paper inside that says BANG. Super cute.

Dragons Egg
This bath bomb is super powdery. The bottom of its bag is filled with powder thats rubbed off. While we were shopping a woman accidentally knocked one off and it looked like someone had just dumped baby power in the floor. When I smelt this I immediatly thought of my mom. She loves citrus scents. On my second trip to Lush she came with me and she bought Hippy Hippy Hippy shower gel. She was really impressed at how soft it made her skin.

MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment Bath Melt
This smells like floral sugar to me. Lush doesn't really give a description on the website about this  bath melt. But it also smells a bit like Godmother soap.

Sugar Babe Bath Scrub
My Sugar Babe smells like cinnamon sugar because it came in contact with a product with cinnamon on it, but Lush says that it is scented with ylang flowers and mimosa blossom.

Stawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar
This photo doesn't justify its color. It has a very pretty pastel pink tinge to it. This massage bar has crushed strawberries inside. It smells like strawberries dipped in chocolate. Yummy!

Charlotte Island Body Tint

This is a temporary body tint that smells like chocolate covered banana popsicles. I have fair skin and this looks very naturual when rubbed in. The scent kind of dwindles off once it is absorbed which I like because I would not want it interferring with my perfume.

Godmother Soap
I think this has been described as the off season Snow Fairy. I'm not sure, so don't quote me, but this smells like the Bubblegum Lip Scrub which I bought on my first trip, but I didn't bring it with me so that's why I don't have a picture. But these two products smell like a cherry-grape slushie from Sonic :)

Sultana of Soap
This contains chopped apricots and currants and has a nut topping. This smells like sweet cream to me. I bought a huge slab of it. It just smells so good.

Mint Julip Lip Scrub

I bought this on my second trip after falling in love with Bubblegum. These are alomost ten dollars, but I belive if this is used correctly it will last for months. The size of the tip of a Q-tip is more than enough for your lips. The good thing about the lip scrubs is that after the sugar has dissolved you can lick it off. When I bought this the sales associate told me this was a good breath freshener as well as a lip scrub.

Color Supplement in Light Yellow

This was given to me for free on my second trip.  I was really shocked that we were getting this for free since these little jars are around fifteen dollars, but from looking at the jar I am assuming they got a new shipment and needed to get rid of these. It's by no means about to expire, but that's just what I'm assuming.

I also bought a little tin that can carry soap or a massge bar or whatever you feel like putting in it.

Sorry this post was super long. I'm sure I will get the hang of shortening my thoughts ;)
Thanks for reading!
